1. To address future social, educational trends, and industry needs, the University of Taipei (hereinafter referred to as the University) has established the School of Urban Studies (hereinafter referred to as the School) and formulated these School of Urban Studies Establishment Guidelines (hereinafter referred to as these Guidelines) to guide students in self-directed learning, interdisciplinary collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

2. The School operates as a task-oriented unit responsible for the following tasks:
    (1) Coordinating and managing the credit programs participated in by the University's General Education Center.
    (2) Promoting interdisciplinary, innovative, and experimental courses across the University.
    (3) Integrating internal and external resources to develop and promote forward-looking and original projects.

    (4) Supporting university-wide teaching innovation projects.
    (5) Providing a platform for inter-college exchange to foster interdisciplinary dialogue within the University.

3. To promote the development of the School, a Teaching and Research Committee may be established, consisting of five to seven members, including one convener and one deputy convener. Members are appointed by the President of the University from among experts and scholars, with a term of one year, which may be renewed upon expiration.

4. Based on the University's development, student career planning, and teaching and research needs, the School may collaborate with internal and external academic and research units to offer credit programs and courses.
5. Matters not covered by these Guidelines shall be handled in accordance with relevant regulations of the University.
6. These Establishment Guidelines shall be implemented upon approval by the Administrative Council and subsequent approval by the President of the University.
